Tyson

Duncan is our largest and strongest pony. He is bright bay in colour and is a heavy horse and pony cross. He pulls the Fenix Freedom carriage - a sturdy four wheel vehicle which is built for ease of access for both wheelchair users and ambulant participants.

Little Splash is a little pony with a big heart. He enjoys his job offering pony therapy and working from the ground with all our participants.

Tyson has recently joined the team from a local riding school. He is currently being used for riding therapy, and will soon be used for carriage driving too. He is a grey cob with a lovely personality, and everyone is looking forward to getting to know him better.

Ellie

Ellie is a sweet, bay Shetland pony who can be stroked or lead at pony therapy sessions and she enjoys meeting our visitors.

Tonto

Tonto is a cheeky miniature horse, who shares his duties and stabling with Ellie. The adorable duo attend shows together, and Tonto is just the right height for wheelchair users to give him a brush or a stroke.

A Fond Fairwell

Big Splash

It is with great sadness that we must announce the loss of our much loved veteran pony Big Splash. Big Splash was in his third decade with our Group and over the years he has brought a tremendous amount of pleasure to a great deal of people, volunteers, participants and visitors.

With his trademark moustache and pleasant disposition he made friends with everyone he met. He was a real ‘people pony’ and helped those who were nervous or unsure gain equine confidence, a  ‘school master’ in every sense of the word. His easy going temperament made him an ideal driving pony, well schooled and willing he was always a pleasure to work with. In recent years he had been retired from his driving duties and was used mainly for pony and riding therapy, where he proved himself equally patient and sensible helping to build confidence in his young riders.
